Anne Louise Volkay

Mrs. Anne Louise Volkay, 88, of  Sharon. , passed away at 4:00 A, Sunday, August 21st, 2011 peacefully following an extended illness at Clepper Convalescent Home.
Mrs. Volkay was born in Farrell, PA on January 3, 1923, the daughter of the late Luke and Agatha (Yereb) Vranjes.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church

She served in the U.S. Army in WW II.

She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Sharon Regional Health System Sharon, PA and The Cleveland Clinic in the "A" Building . 20 years

Various bridge clubs, Hermitage Womans Club, Hermitage Womens Garden Club, The American Heart Association, the Notre Dame bowling league. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and vegetable gardening.  

Farrell High School and St. Francis School of Nursing, New Castle, PA.

She was the wife of Paul  Volkay. married October 19th, 1946

She is survived by her son Robert (Holly) Volkay of Farrell, PA. Also Two Sisters Madeline Keryan of New Port Ritchey, FL., Betty Dickinson of Phoenix, AZ.

She is also survived by several nieces & nephews and 3 grandchildren Victoria Anne Volkay, Elizabeth Marie Volkay, Andrew Paul Volkay

Anne was proceeded in death by her husband and parents

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, PA, at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 25th,  with Father Berdis officiating.

Friends may call Wednesday 5-8 pm.   at Stephen J Sherman Funeral Home.

Interment will be Thursday August 25th, at St. Anthonys Cemetery Hermitage, PA.

I remember the 32-cup coffee put that Aunt Ann, Aunt Syl, Aunt Mal, and my Mom (Joan Gammino) would go through just talking, the bridge games they always talked about, and all the things they did throughout their lives. But I remember Aunt Ann was the one person even my Aunt Syl did dare argue with. Bob, Holly, and Family - I am so very sorry. I hope God has a coffee pot in Heaven.
