Grant Edward Taylor Sr., 82, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.
Grant was born January 6th, 1939 to Helen M. (Fowler) and Chester Eugene Taylor in Wheatland, PA. He was a graduate of Hickory High School and earned his welding credentials from NCST. Grant worked for Sharon Steel as a slitter operator, 30 years until his retirement. On January 6th, 1962 he married his wife, Delnora Ann (Williams) Taylor, who survives at home.
He was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and greeter. Grant was also a long-time member of Sharpsville Service Club, he was a Cub and Boy scout Leader, treasurer of the Shenango Valley Boat Club, and he volunteered his time helping the Sharpsville Little League. Grant enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid Cleveland Browns and Sharpsville High School football fan. Most important to him was time spent with his family, especially his grandsons.
Grant is survived by his wife, Delnora Taylor, sons, Dr. Grant Edward Taylor Jr. and his wife Dr. Niloofer Dalal, of Smyrna, GA, Timothy A. Taylor of Hermitage, Brad Taylor and his wife Heather of New Castle, grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Logan Taylor, and Gavin Taylor. Also surviving is brother, Chester “Bud” Taylor and his wife Elizabeth, sisters in law, Dorothy Scott and her husband Kevin, Delores Williams and her husband Robert, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenneth Taylor, sister, Delores “Honey” Thompson, and sister, Betty J. Hoovler.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and UPMC Home Healthcare for their kindness and compassion.
Due to the current pandemic, private services will be held.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery
