Andrew Totin, 83, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday October 9th, 2015 at his home in Sharpsville, PA.
Andrew was born on June 4th, 1932 to John and Anna (Ivandel) Totin in Ernest, PA. He graduated from Sharon High School, class of 1951. Andrew worked in electrical maintenance for Westinghouse and as an Electrician for the Joy Cone Co. until his retirement. On June 14th, 1958 he married his wife Joanne Marie DePizzo who survives at home. Andrew was a veteran who served in the US Navy on the USS Catamount, during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the China Service Medal.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in Sharpsville, PA, the Sharpsville American Legion, and the Sharpsville VFW. Andrew enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing solitaire on the computer. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife Joanne Totin, daughter - RoseAnn Sanoski of Masury, OH; 2 sons - Andrew J. (Kathleen) Totin of Sharpsville, PA, James E. (Pam) Totin of Sharpsville, PA; sister - Helen Seginak of Hudson, OH; sister in law - Mary Totin of Hubbard, OH; 7 Grandchildren - Cheryl Sanoski, Melissa (Brad) Anderson, Brittany (Ryan) Voisey, Andrew (Krista) Totin, Kenneth (Kayla) Sanoski, James Totin, and Matthew Totin; 4 Great Grandchildren - Noah Sanoski, Gabrial Sanoski, Wesley Anderson, Joanna Totin; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, John Totin, mother, Anna Totin, son, Gerald “Jerry” Totin, sisters Ann Volk, Irene Hromyak, Betty Gaeta, Mary Totin, and brothers, John Totin, George Totin, Charles Totin, Mike Totin, and Steve Totin.
Friends may call Monday, October 12th, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday October 13th, 2015 at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, 2015, 11:00 am at the St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Sharpsville, PA, with Father Matt Strickenberger, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery. Full military honors will be offered by West Middlesex VFW Post 6233, Farrell VFW Post 5286, and Wheatland American Legion Post 432.
