Anita Marie (Gazi) Ewing

Anita Marie Ewing, 85 of Charlotte NC passed away peacefully on April 17th, 2025.

Anita was born November 18th, 1939 to Mary (Saksun) and Paul Gazi in Monessen, PA. She was a graduate of Monessen High School, class of 1957. Anita worked as a legal secretary until her retirement. On June 27th, 1981 she married her husband, Robert M. Ewing who survives at home.

She was a member of the Sardis Presbyterian Church of Charlotte, NC. Anita enjoyed playing card games, such as bridge and euchre, theatre and reading. 

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Jones (David) Doering; her son, Richard W. (Debbie) Jones; her sister, Evelyn Gazi Bloom and sisters-in-law Joy Gazi, Mary Crane (Charles) and Linda Dausch (Timothy).

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Gazi Minno and Paul Gazi, daughter, Cindy Marie Jones, step-father, Michael Minno, brother Edward Gazi, sister, Sharon Gazi Chester, and brother-in-law, Vernon Bloom.

Friends may call Tuesday May 6th, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Crematory.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 6th, 2025 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Glenn Hink officiating.

Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
