Ann (Eskovich) Kritz

Ann Kritz, formerly of 457 Sharon-Bedford Road, West Middlesex, passed away peacefully at O’Brien Memorial Health Care Center on Friday Sept. 11. She was 93.

Mrs. Kritz was born on Sept. 29, 1921, in Farrell to Peter and Anna (Eskovich) Katrick. She was a devoted caregiver to her entire family over her lifetime.
Mrs. Kritz was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, where she was involved in the church’s catering service for many years. Earlier in life, she worked in retail at JC Penny. Renowned for her green thumb, Mrs. Kritz was called the “Rose Queen” by many, and was a member of Sunset Lanes senior citizen league bowling league for several years.
She married her husband, John Kritz, Jr. in 1942. He died Jan. 20th, 1976.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard; a sister, Catherine Pollock; and five brothers, Frank, Jack, Nick, Mike and John (“Jonas”).

Surviving are: a daughter, Carol and her husband John Schaner, West Middlesex; son, Doug Kritz and his wife Marguerite, West Middlesex; and daughter-in-law Judy Kritz.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeff Kritz and his wife Jodi, South Bloomfield, Ohio; Leslie and her husband Vic Stonebraker, West Middlesex; Kevin Kritz and his wife Traci, Austintown, Ohio; Rick Kritz and his wife Chris; Hubbard, Ohio; Derek Kritz and his wife Karen, Las Vegas; and Kristin Schaner, Atlanta; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Louise Kedrick and goddaughter Judy Doutt, both of West Middlesex; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday September 14th, 2015 from 4pm to 7 pm in Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, 2201 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA. Parastas prayer service will offered at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mass of Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday September 15th, 2015 at 11 am in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage, PA with Father Kevin Marks officiating. Panachida service will take place at 10:30 am in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
