Ann C. Mittal of Farrell, PA was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, grandmother (Meme) and friend to many. She left this world to join her husband (John P. Mittal) and sons (John and Greg) in heaven on July 18, 2021 at age 101.
One of her passions was spending time in the kitchen, cooking delicious meals. Friends and family enjoyed listening to her tell stories about her childhood and early adult years. At age 80, Ann learned how to play bocce where she quickly became the MVP of her team. Most of her free time was spent praying the rosary, reading Polish prayer books and praying for her family and friends.
Ann was a lifelong member of St. Adalbert's Church where she enjoyed attending daily mass, making perogies and participated in the Infant of Prague Guild. She was also a member of the rosary society, served as baby recorder, and presented the baby statues of the Infinite Prague. Ann was a member of the Blue Army of Mercer County. She attended annually, the Lady of Consolation in Cary, OH.
When asked what her secret to a long life was, her response was to “always keep moving and stay active.” Prayer and her faith was, above all, most important.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Mittal, sons, John and Greg Mittal, parents, Matthew and Michalina Tankiewicz, and brothers, Matt and Stanley Tankiewicz. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Meckler, sons Richard (Sheila) and Robert (Lynnette), and fifteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone she interacted with.
