Barbara Anne (McGinty) Stawaisz

Barbara Anne (McGinty) Stawaisz, 86, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of Hermitage, PA. passed peacefully on October 7th, 2017. She was a precious Mother to Robert, Susan and Patricia and a devoted wife to her husband, Michael, of 46 years.
A devout woman of the Roman Catholic faith, she served our Lord ministering to the sick and dying as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years.
She was the loving daughter of Gertrude (Moran) McGinty and John Edward McGinty II and the only sister to her brothers, Robert and John.
She was a 1949 graduate of Sharon High School and a 1952 graduate of the Christian H. Buhl Hospital School of Nursing.
She married Michael A. Stawaisz, of Farrell, on October 9th, 1954 in Sharon. The couple made their home in Hermitage with their children.
Barbara derived great pleasure from the meaningful relationships that she developed throughout her lifetime. She leaves a treasured friend in Regina Donnelly while reuniting with her sister/friend, Jeanne McCullough, in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Robert; husband, Michael; and son, Robert. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan and Patricia; her brother and his wife, John and Nina McGinty of Hermitage; a brother-in-law, Henry, and a sister-in-law, Gertrude, both of Farrell.
Calling hours will be held Thursday October 12th, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 13th, 2017 at 11:30 am in the Church of Notre Dame with the Very Rev. Richard J. Allen, E.V., officiating. Friends are welcome to meet directly at church.
Interment will take place at St. Rose Mausoleum in Hermitage following Mass.
