Betty Jane Sherman, 95, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 29th, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.
Betty was born September 9th, 1925 to Twila (Miller) Stokes and Clem M. Stokes. On June 30th, 1943 she married her husband, the late Frank V. Sherman who passed away January 1st, 1998.
Betty was a graduate of Sharon High School. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville where she was a very active member of the church including teaching Sunday school for many years. Betty retired from the Sharpsville Area School District as Head of 7th Street School Cafeteria. She was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star. Betty loved dancing and traveling with her husband, Frank. She also loved music particularly hymns and country music. She was an excellent cook and baker. She especially enjoyed baking very fancy cookies at Christmas time for her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her sons, Reverend Frank M. (Becky) Sherman of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Albert C. (Kathy) Sherman of New Port Richey, Florida, daughter, Twila R. Sisk of Tallahassee, Florida, and son, Stephen J. (Kathie) Sherman of Transfer, Pennsylvania.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, David (Serena) Dixon, Beth Ann Dixon, Albert Sherman, Lori (AJ) Lievre, Jason (Joelisa) Sherman, Elizabeth (Christopher) Sullivan, Stephen J. (Angelia) Sherman, II, Christopher Sisk, and 8 great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank V. Sherman, infant sister, Dorothy, infant brother, Robert, and her parents.
Friends may call Friday May 7th, 2021 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Crematory 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148.
Her funeral service will be held Friday May 7th, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with her son, Reverend Frank M. Sherman, officiating.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery Sharpsville, PA next to her husband.
