Charles Norris Obituary
Charles C. “Chuck” Norris, 68, of Farrell, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 31st, 2016 following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.
Charles was born on October 29th, 1947 to Charles "Bud" and Gloria Rose (Picketts) Norris in Grove City, PA. He was a high school graduate. Charles was Co-Owner of C & N Construction, until his retirement. On December 14th, 1968 he married his beloved wife of 47 years Maria (Mora) Norris who survives at home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served 2 tours in Vietnam. For his service, Charles was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 Device, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Charles was honorably discharged at the rank of Sgt.
He was of Lutheran faith. Charles enjoyed fishing, reading books about Westerns, and his favorite past time was watching football with his sons.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Maria Norris, three sons, Charles Thomas Norris and his wife Dian of Hermitage, PA, Brian C. Norris of Farrell, PA, Kevin Jon Norris and his wife Shellea of Farrell, PA; also surviving are 6 sisters, 1 brother, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Charles "Bud" Norris, mother, Gloria Rose Norris, and grandchild, Jasmine Norris.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 5th, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016, 11:00 am at the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA, with Rev. Dr. Gary Nelson, officiating.
Burial and full military honors will be offered in Americas Cemetery.
