Donald Small Obituary
Donald Laverne Small, 91, of Sharpsville, passed away on Wednesday January 27th, 2016 at his home in Sharpsville, PA.
Don was born on June 22nd, 1924 to Harry and Jennie (Yeager) Small in Clarks Mills, PA. He grew up in Clarks Mills and belonged to Clarks Mills United Methodist Church. He graduated from Hadley High School. He married his former wife the late Betty Uber on July 15th, 1950 she passed away May 3rd, 1995. Don worked for and retired from Dean Dairy in 1987. On September 12th, 1998 he married his wife Norma Wilson, who survives at home.
He was an active member of Hickory United Methodist Church, the Shenango Valley Masonic Lodge 810 where he served as chaplain for many years. Don was also an active member of the Mercer County Shrine Club and AASR Valley of New Castle Consistory. He loved going to ball games epically his grandchildren’s events and he was an avid sports fan.
Don is survived by his wife Norma, 2 daughters - Donna (Gene) Sarazen of Sharon, PA, Debbi (Nick) Marocco of Sharon, PA; 2 step daughters - Connie (Skip) Snyder of Streetsboro, OH, Beverly Moderelli of Sharpsville, PA; 3 step sons - Ed (Mona) Wilson of Aurora, CO, Terry (Debbie) Wilson of Topsail, NC, Wayne Wilson of Hermitage, PA; brother - Richard (Pat) Small of Clarks Mills, PA; 4 Grandchildren - Ryan Sarazen, Jim (Virginia) Marocco, Nicole (Matt) Rudd, Michele Sarazen; 1 great grandchild Zaylee Marocco, and 11 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Harry Small, mother, Jennie Small, former wife, Betty Uber, 4 brothers, Bob, Bill, Ronald, and Herman Small.
Friends may call Saturday, January 30th, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, PA.
A Masonic Service will be held for Brother Donald Small.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016, 1:00 pm at the Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, PA, with Rev. Dave Evans, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hickory United Methodist Church 240 N. Hermitage Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148 in memory of Don.
