Edward A. (Ed) Mitcheltree, 77, of Sharpsville passed away peacefully on Saturday June 8th, 2024 with his wife and brothers at his side.
Edward was born November 27th, 1946 to Pearline (Gill) and William I. Mitcheltree Sr. in Sharon, PA. A graduate of Sharpsville High School, Ed was a production operator at Packard Electric for 30 years before retiring. On April 24th, 1999 he married his wife, Janis A. (Jerome) Mitcheltree who survives at home.
He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville. Ed was an outdoor enthusiast who over the years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, and planting a large garden each year. He very much enjoyed bowling and playing Santa Claus during Christmas time. Ed enjoyed his weekend gatherings at Ted’s Autobody with his brothers. He loved traveling and cruising, with his wife Jan. They would take spontaneous “rides” which could last weeks. He particularly enjoyed visiting areas in Tennessee and Key West Florida. But most important to him was time spent with his family.
Edward is survived by his wife, Janis Mitcheltree, daughters, Patti (Andy) Carpec of West Middlesex, Barbara Black of Sharon, step children, Daniel (Sherry) Bailey of Sharpsville, Janette (Jim) Auchter of Sharpsville, Erik Harding and Frank Harding both of Texas, Lance Harding of Kentucky, grandchildren, Alan, Andrew, Amanda, Emily, Marissa, Spencer, Kyle, Kara, Levi, Luke, great grandchildren, Alan S., Beverly, Wiley, Nevaeh, Thiago, Isabella, Aubree, Elijah, and a special bond he shared with Casen and Eli. Ed is also survived by a great great grandchild Maverick as well as his brothers, William I. Mitcheltree Jr. of Hermitage, Robert (Pat) Mitcheltree of Brookfield, OH, and Richard (Christine) Mitcheltree of Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Gail Stroop, sister-in-law, Karen Mitcheltree, and step son, Jay Bailey.
Friends may call Tuesday June 11th, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 11th, 2024 at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Carlin of Sharpsville First Presbyterian Church officiating.
