Eugene Wesley Fobes, 93, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 20th, 2019 at his home in Sharpsville, PA.
Eugene was born on July 8th, 1925 to Clyde William and Edna (Burdette) Fobes in Sharon, PA. He served in the US Army during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. Later he re-enlisted in the Army Air Corps. Eugene worked as a union carpenter for over 40 years. He also owned and operated his safe and lock business. One day after his discharge from the military he married his wife Alma Maxine (Houck) Fobes, who survives at home.
He was a member of South Pymatuning Community Church where he served in their video tape ministry. Eugene was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 517 in Sharpsville, Scout Master in Maryland, member of the carpenters union in Sharon, and the Christian Business Men’s organization.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Alma Fobes, daughters, Sandra A. (Thomas) Stotler of Berkley Springs, WV, Ethel G. (Delmont) Zahniser of Hermitage, PA, sons, Clyde W. (Kathy) Fobes of Eagle Bridge, NY, and Ernie F. (Leisa) Fobes of West Middlesex, PA. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and nephew, Gary Fobes.
He was preceded in death by father, Clyde William Fobes, mother, Edna Fobes, son, Charles Raymond Fobes, and brother, Ernest E. Fobes.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 25th, 2019 at 11:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA, with Pastor David Searle, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
