Frances Josephine (Siegel) Molchan

Frances Josephine Molchan, 92, of Sharon, passed away on Thursday May 23rd, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, OH.  
  
Frances was born on December 29th, 1926 to Frank and Juliana (Palmerich) Siegel in Edinburg, PA. After graduating from high school, she earned her bachelors degree from Case Western Reserve University. She then graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in New Castle, PA. During World War II she served as a cadet nurse for the U.S. Armed Forces. Frances worked as an instructor in nursing for Mercer County Career Center. Previously she had worked as a nurse at Sharon General Hospital, Pennsylvania Public Health Department, and David Thomas Watson Home for Crippled Children. On July 20th, 1963 she married her husband, the late George D. Molchan, who passed away December 3rd, 2005.
  
She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage, PA and the Carpathian -Russian Club where she was active in the ladies auxiliary. Frances was destined to be a nurse. Her whole life she was truly caring and enjoyed taking care of people, especially her family whom she loved very much. She also loved her dog Stanley, sewing, baking, and cooking in her home where no one who walked through her door, would go hungry.
  
Frances is survived by her loving children, son, Michael Molchan of Sharon, PA, daughter, Letitia (Patrick) Kanar of Newark, DE, brother, Frank Siegel of Edinburg, PA, sister, Clara Siegel of Seminole, FL, brother in law, John Rozum, sister in law, Jennie Siegel, many nieces, nephews, and loving extended family members.
  
She was preceded in death by father, Frank Siegel, mother, Juliana Siegel, husband, George D. Molchan, sister, Anna Koshar, sister, Zetha Rozum, brother, John Siegel, sister, Loretta Kozlowski, and brother, Frank Sniezek.
  
Friends and family may call Tuesday May 28th, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & Tuesday May 28th, 2019 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
    
Panachida prayer service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in the funeral home.

Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held on Wednesday May 29th, 2019 at 11:00 am in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Marks, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
