Francis Sterling Obituary
Francis Gene Sterling, 85 of Niles, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday November 4th, 2018 in his home.
Gene was born July 17th, 1933 to Don Clifford and Katherine (Shaffer) Sterling in Franklin, PA. He was a graduate of Franklin High School. After graduation he served in the US Army. Gene worked for Packard Electric Corporation as a machine operator. He was of Protestant faith and enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and bird watching.
Gene is survived by his fiancé, Nancy Walpole of Niles, OH, two daughters, Paula R. (Scott) Sterling-Gladysz of Statesville, NC, Marilyn V. (William) Bayer of Zelienople, PA; three sons, Donald G. (Susan) Sterling of Hadley, PA, Brett A. (Lisa) Sterling of Sharon, PA, Bradley A. (Andrea) Sterling of Sharon, PA; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Don Clifford Sterling, mother, Katherine Sterling, son, Brian G. Sterling, former wife Urla J. Sterling, sister, Evelyn Proudfoot, and brother, Darrel Sterling.
Friends may call Thursday November 8th, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 8th, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA, with Pastor John Trojak, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
