Gerald M. “Jerry” Cousins, 80, of Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 2nd, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Jerry was born on February 22nd, 1935 to Frank H. and Cora (Wilson) Cousins in Mercer, PA. He graduated from Mercer High School Class of 1953. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. Gerald worked as a Pickler 37 years for Sawhill Tubular Wheatland, PA until his retirement in 1996. On October 25th, 1957 he married his wife Bonita “Bonnie” B. Blackburn who survives at home.
He was a member of the Sharpsville First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville, PA where he served as a Deacon and Elder. Jerry also sang in the church choir and was a member of Harmony Class. He was a member of the Hickory VFW, enjoyed bowling, was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and was a Pirates & Steelers fan.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, 2 daughters - Rhonda L. (Mike J.) Moats of Ypsilanti, MI, Crystal I. (Rick) Bauer Jr. of Sharpsville, PA; son - Kevin R. (Jennifer) Cousins of Kingwood, TX; 2 Grandchildren - Andrew R. Cousins, and Sara L. Cousins.
He was preceded in death by father, Frank H. Cousins, mother, Cora Cousins, infant son, Randal L. Cousins, sister, Helen Campbell, sister, Sara Crawford, sister, Fern Bilunka, 4 brothers, Weldon Cousins, Chester Cousins, James Cousins, and Robert Cousins.Friends may call Friday, February 5th, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA and Saturday February 6th, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Sharpsville First Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6th, 2016, 11:00 am at the Sharpsville First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Carlin, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Haywood Cemetery.
