Harry Miller Jr., 75, of Transfer, passed away 5:00 pm on Saturday December 19th, 2015 at Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh, PA.
Harry was born on June 2nd, 1940 to Harry and Hazel (Basinger) Miller in Normalville, PA. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Harry worked for Wheatland Tube until his retirement, after 31 years. On June 31st, 1965 he married his wife, the late Virginia “ Jenny” Basinger who passed away December 2nd, 2006.
He was a member of the Transfer First Baptist Church and the Gold Prospectors Association. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gambling trips, was an avid Steelers fan, and enjoyed beers. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his daughter - Kristina “Tony” Splitstone of Transfer, PA; son - Troy “Scott” (Katherine) Miller of Greenville, PA; sister - Betty Neidderheiser of SC; brother - Richard (Carol) Miller of Indian Head, PA; 7 Grandchildren – Joshua Miller, Nicole Miller, Tina Miller, Matthew Miller, Cody Miller, Michael Weir Jr., Kylie Splitstone; 4 Great Grandchildren - Isabella, Hunter, Kara, and Sawyer.
He was preceded in death by father, Harry Miller, mother, Hazel Miller, wife, Virginia “Jenny” Miller, son, Harry "Keith" Miller, brother, Bob Miller, brother, Don Miller, and brother, Ray Miller.
Friend may call Tuesday, December 22nd, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015, 11:00 am at the Transfer First Baptist Church, with Pastor John Frye, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Transfer Cemetery.
