Irene Marie (Kapurik) Perman

Irene Marie Perman, 83, of Hermitage PA passed away Tuesday August 26th, 2025 in St. John XXIII Nursing Home.
Mrs. Perman was born on August 11th, 1942 in Sharon PA, a daughter of the late Adam and Mary (Yonchak) Kapurik. She was a 1960 graduate of Farrell High School where she developed life long friends and enjoyed multiple reunions, lunches and get togethers with her classmates for more than 60 years. She continued her education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in
education from Slippery Rock University in 1964.
Irene taught English at Greenville and Farrell High School systems. She was a compassionate and caring educator, leaving an imprint on her students.
Irene was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church, Sharpsville PA. She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, Jednota, Branch 153.
Irene married her beloved husband, the late William Perman on August 22nd, 1980. He passed away on October 10th, 2018.
Irene’s hobbies included traveling, reading, doing jigsaw, and crosswords, but most of all shopping. She enjoyed gifting many of her purchases to family and friends throughout the years. Holidays were always something to be celebrated. Irene always had an outfit for every occasion which included matching jewelry, socks, and sometimes even shoes.
She is survived by her sister Dolores (Kapurik) Janosko, sister-in-law Catherine (Jose) Andrade, her nieces and nephews, Deborah (Nick) Sormaz, Karen Sciortino, Brian (Jodi) Janosko, Tom (Anita) Perman, Rachelle (Bill) Shea, Amy (Chad) Javens, and Drew (Staci) Perman. Irene is also survived by many great nieces, and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step son William Perman, brother-in-law Andrew Janosko, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Cindy Perman, nephews AJ Janosko and David Sciortino, and her beloved cocker spaniel Buffy.
Friends may call Thursday August 28th, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 29th , 2025 at 10:30 am. Friends may gather directly at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church 311 W Ridge Ave, Sharpsville, PA 16150
