Irene Marie (Shuster) Shaffer

Irene Marie Shaffer of Wheatland, PA, passed away on December 22nd, 2025. She was 93 years old.

Irene was born on August 11th, 1932 to Susan (Koromaus) and Mike Shuster in Adrian, PA. She was a graduate of Rossiter High School. On October 18th, 1952 she married her husband, the late Gene Shaffer who passed away in 2023. Irene enjoyed bowling, reading, but more than anything she loved being a wife, and a mother.

Irene is survived by a son Bruce (Karen) Shaffer, grandchildren Jason (Stephanie) Shaffer, Cory (Kimberly) Shaffer, Samantha (Brent) Rose, and great grandchildren Cameron and Kennedy Shaffer, and Asher and Emery Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers John and Michael Shuster, and sister Dorothy Larson.

Friends may call Tuesday December 30th, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.

Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday December 30th, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 2230 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA with Very Rev. Kevin E. Marks, officiating. 

Burial will take place next to her husband in St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
