Jane E. (Smith) Cardwell

Jane E. Cardwell, 96, of Sharon, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday March 19th, 2016 in Clepper Manor Sharon, PA.

Jane was born on January 12th, 1920 to Rudy and Grace (Stubbs) Smith in Sharon, PA. Following high school, she worked for 30 years at McDowell Bank in the Trust Department, until her retirement in 1980. On September 14th, 1956 she married the late Robert Cardwell, who passed away April 1st, 1985.

In her earlier years, Jane loved to go dancing with her husband every Saturday night. Jane was an avid reader and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards, 500, and euchre. Special to her was spending time and taking care of her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Robert T. (Robyn) Sherman of West Middlesex, PA; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Sherman, Kelly Sherman, Kim McNatt, Paul Sherman, and Rob Sherman; 7 great grandchildren; also surviving is her daughter in law Ann Sherman in Sharon, PA and Jane’s dear friend Beverly Klinge.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, son, Thomas H. Sherman, and grandson, Thomas J. Sherman.

Friends may call Thursday March 24th, 2016 from 3 pm to 4 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 24th, 2016 at 4 pm in Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home with Father Adam Trambley, officiating.

Burial will take place in America’s Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
