John S. "Jack" Cardwell

John S. “Jack” Cardwell, 65, of Sharpsville, passed away on Friday September 9th, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  
  
John was born on March 22nd, 1951 to John and Margaret (Anderson) Cardwell in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School and Slippery Rock University. John worked as an Accounting Assistant for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, until his retirement. On October 1st, 1977 he married his wife, Patricia Stowe, who survives at home.
  
He was of Presbyterian faith. John served 31 years as a Sharpsville Borough Council member, multiple times as the President and Vice President. He enjoyed golfing in the Muscarella’s golf league. John was an avid sports fan who followed the Sharpsville Blue Devils and all Pittsburgh professional sports teams, particularly the Steelers. John also loved politics.
  
John is survived by his loving wife Patricia, brother, Dr. Rob (Katy)Cardwell of Ocean City, NJ, sister Colleen Cardwell of Mesa. AZ, father-in-law, Clarence Stowe, 2 brother-in-laws, 2 sister-in-laws, 4 nieces, 6 nephews, 4 great nieces, and 4 great nephews.
  
He was preceded in death by father, John Cardwell, mother, Margaret Cardwell, and mother-in-law, Velma Stowe.
  
Friends may call Tuesday, September 13th, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
    
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016, 7:00 pm at the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA, with Pastor Mike Carlin, of the First Presbyterian Church Sharpsville, officiating.
  
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
