John L. Johnson

John L. Johnson of Hermitage, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday June 9th, 2021.

John was born January 1st, 1945 to Martha L. (Morneweck) and John A. Johnson in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1963 and went on to join the 82nd Airborne in the United States Army, serving in Germany.  He retired as a truck driver in 2008 and worked summers for Lark Excavating in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania.  He spent his winters in Florida, where he attended Brooksville Community Church.  He loved the Lord and serving Him. John was also a member of I.H.S. Gospel Ministries.

He married Carol Ann McCartney on March 18th, 1967 in Clarks Mills Methodist Church.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Johnson, sons, Bryan L. Johnson of West Middlesex, PA, Michael A. (Megan) Johnson of Greenville, PA, grandchildren, David Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Derek Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Bristol Johnson, Amelia and Adalynn Johnson.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Saturday June 12th, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA 16148.

Funeral service will be held Saturday June 12th, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Locke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Family Hospice: Heart of Gratitude 700 Bower Hill rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
