John Robert “Jack” Charles, 77 of Greenville passed away peacefully on Saturday April 25th, 2026 in his home.
Jack was born August 25th, 1948 to Helen (Holup) and Robert E. Charles in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Reynolds High School, class of 1967. After high school, Jack served in the US Navy, Seabees during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he was employed as an ASE certified master mechanic at Sharon Chrysler, Jim Sarvas, & Lakeland, before founding his own repair shop Jack’s 5-Star Clinic, formerly Jack’s Mopar clinic. On June 12th, 1971 he married his wife, Regina (Bechtel) Charles who survives at home.
He was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Greenville. Jack was a Mopar and Harley Davidson enthusiast. He loved drag racing and worked on multiple drag team cars over the years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 145, Mercer County ABATE, and life member of the Greenville VFW Post 3374.
Jack is survived by his wife Regina Charles, daughter, Jaclyn “Jackie” (Jay) Smith of Greenville, grandson, Jackson Eckley of Greenville, siblings, James E. (Bonnie) Charles of Sharon, Joanne DiSalvo of Greenville, Jeanette (Dennis) McGranahan of Greenville, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He also leaves his pet cat Kai.
He was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Robert Charles, and brother-in-law, Daniel DiSalvo.
Friends may call Thursday April 30th, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday May 1st, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Military honors will be offered Friday May 1st, 2026 at 11:00 am by the Reynolds VFW Honor Guard.
Burial will be held privately.
