John “Jack” E. Marley, 81 of Sharon, PA passed away on April 4th, 2024. He was born on May 3rd, 1942 to the late Paul and Cecelia (Weisen) Marley.
Jack attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated in 1960 from Sharon High School. He spent many years in his youth as a paperboy. He worked at Wean United, then Trinity Industries Inc. formerly known as Syro Steel in Girard, Ohio for 30 plus years.
He married the love of his life Claudia (Mowry) Marley on August 18th, 1973.
Jack’s biggest joy in life was his family. He enjoyed vacationing in Conneaut, Ohio where he loved to fish. Many friends and family have fond memories of Jack teaching them to waterski. He was known as being the family handyman as well as building, fixing and collecting clocks. Jack was an avid hunter. He was able to create a vivid image in the minds of all who would listen to his stories. On occasion he was known to play a prank or two on family members. Jack loved playing games and was always a tough adversary, especially in chess.
He leaves behind his wife Claudia, married for over 50 years. His daughters Susan (Alan) Darby Hermitage, PA, Charleen (Jim) Howell, Niles, OH. His grandchildren Sam, Evan, Dominic, Colton, James, Matthew and Marah. A sister Peggy McCaughtry (John), Niles, OH, sister-in-laws Vivian Marley, Conneaut, OH and Lillian Marley, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Laurie Morrison, sister Patricia Haynes, and brothers Raymond, Robert and Kenneth.
Friends may call Wednesday April 10th, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm in the Sherman Funeral Home 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 10th, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Nathan Seckinger officiating.
