Joshua Marriotti Obituary

Joshua James Marriotti of Sharpsville passed away unexpectedly due to injuries from a car accident late afternoon on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025. He was 42. Joshua was born August 22nd, 1982 to Laurie L. (Jovenall) and David K. Marriotti in Sharon, PA.
Josh was such a loving and vibrant person. His interests growing up were baseball and various soccer leagues.  He joined the US Marine Corp after graduation and was promoted to Private First Class in Infantry. He enjoyed hunting with his father and brothers, shared the love of cooking with his mother, loved kayaking and fishing and was an avid Cleveland Sports fan.  His home life was consumed with enjoying his two cats and his faithful dog. He had also just proposed in February to his beautiful fiancé Johnna.
Most recently, Josh became a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant of Ohio. He served on Drug Court, was a member of ASAP and Ohio Recovery Housing. He was owner of Hope Recovery Housing and also worked as the head of Business Development for Skypoint Recovery.
Honoring Joshua's Legacy: Hope Recovery Housing
For those who knew him, you know the incredible journey he undertook.  He bravely battled addiction for a large part of his life, but his transformation to a sober lifestyle over the past 5 years became a beacon of hope for countless others. Driven by his own experience, Josh dedicated his life to building this amazing establishment.  Through this work he created safehavens and pathways to recovery for individuals and families grappling with the devastating effects of addiction.  He opened soberliving homes/rehab options offering, not just shelter, but also support, guidance and a sense of community. Josh’s life goal was to help as many people as he could. He knew that his purpose in life was to share his experience and show others that there is a path out of addiction and a light at the end of the tunnel. Through his faith, family and the support of so many individuals along his path, Josh created hope and possibility for so many who are struggling and looking for help. His work in such a short period of time is only the beginning of the bigger plans he had, and the goal is still to continue his efforts and outreach to expand and help as many people as possible. Josh’s legacy does not end here, and the Hope Recovery House will continue to be there for those battling with addiction and substance abuse. If you are inspired by his story, donations can be made to continue his efforts.
