LaRue Inez (Cusick) Steen

LaRue Inez Steen of Hermitage passed away on December 6th, 2025. She was 81 years old.

LaRue was born on September 29th, 1944 to Twila (Rolinson) and Fred Cusick in Farrell, PA. She was a graduate of Hickory High School. LaRue worked with children with special needs at Hermitage School District. In 1965 she married her husband, Gary Lee Steen.

LaRue loved animals and cardinals. She volunteered her time at the Humaine Society. She was also a hospice volunteer. LaRue baked for Meals on Wheels for many years. She was also a special needs caretaker.

LaRue is survived by 2 sons Scott (Margaret) Steen of Mercer, and Mark Steen (Kim McNatt) of Hermitage, a sister Susan Peterson, a brother Tim Cusick, grandchildren Gary Steen, David McNatt, Trevor Steen, McKenzie Driver, Kylie Steen, and great-grandchild Violet Driver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Private services will be held.

Burial will be held in Morefield Cemetery.
