Linda L. (Taylor) Hickman

Linda L. Hickman, 70, of Hermitage passed away June 11th, 2021 with her family at her side, following an extended illness in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Pittsburgh, PA.
Linda was born August 30th, 1950 to Lilly Mae (Roberts) and Elmer Taylor in Sharon, PA. She was a 1968 graduate of Sharpsville High School, she earned her bachelors and masters in education from Slippery Rock University. Linda worked for the Hermitage School District in Artman Elementary as a teacher and librarian. 
She was of Protestant faith and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Sharpsville. She belonged to Shenango Valley Junior Women’s Club and the Women’s Club of Sharpsville. Linda touched so many hearts and brought joy to every occasion. She was an avid reader and shared her love of books with her grandchildren and students. Linda also enjoyed traveling with her GiGis, espically to  Clearwater Beach, Florida. She loved music and was known to randomly burst into song at any given moment. She also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Linda is survived by her children, Julie (Frank) Strama of Vienna, OH, Tim (Jen) Hickman of Beaver, PA, Jeffrey Hickman of Clearwater Beach, FL, brothers, Tom (Ann) Taylor of Pittsburgh, PA, Merle (Gail) Taylor of Ohio, grandchildren, Emily, Butchie, Katie Strama, Jack and Lily Hickman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shorty and Mae Taylor, brothers, Bob and Paul Taylor. 
In memory of Mrs. Hickman, children's books or monetary contributions can be sent to Hermitage Artman Elementary Library in memory of Linda.
Friends may call Tuesday June 15th, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Crematory 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 16th, 2021 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Steel officiating. 
Burial will take place in Westside Cemetery.
