Margaret A. Legters, 99, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 16th, 2018 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville, PA.
Margaret was born on August 11th, 1919 to James and Elizabeth (Levan) Stryker in Milton, PA. She graduated from Meadville High School. Margaret worked as a clerk for Grants Department Store. On January 4th, 1941 she married her husband, the late Robert Phillip Legters, who passed away January 4th, 1994.
She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Sharon where she was active in many church activities and taught primary Sunday school. She also belonged to the “Grant Girls” social club and card clubs. Margaret loved spending time with her husband and family.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ed) Burns of Lower Burrell, PA, sons, James R. (Pat) Legters of Jamestown, PA, Fred R Legters of Sacramento, CA, and Eric S. Legters, of Sharpsville, PA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, James Stryker, mother, Elizabeth Stryker, husband Robert P. Legters, 3 brothers, Gerald Stryker, Gordon Stryker, Wildun Gundrum, and 1 great granddaughter, Alaina Legters.
Friends may call Friday, December 21st, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21st, 2018 at 11:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home Hermitage, PA, with Rev. Doug Dyson, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
