Marianne Novelli Obituary
Marianne Novelli, 91, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Thursday January 19th, 2017 in Sharon Regional Health System Sharon, PA.
Marianne was born on September 15th, 1925 to Louis and Nancy (DeSantis) Fortuna in Sharpsville, PA. She graduated from Sharpsville High School, class of 1943. Marianne worked as an operator for Bell Telephone. On November 9th, 1946, she married the late Roger R. Novelli, who passed away February 27th, 2006
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and St. Olivia Society. She also enjoyed working polls in Sharpsville on election day. Marianne was a founding member of the Said & Done card club, 66 years, with her childhood friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, U.S. and foreign travel but particularly, vacationing with her family.
Marianne is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Regin) Schlachet of Moreland Hills, OH, Marianne (Brien) Bell of Ann arbor, MI sons, Roger A. (Patty) Novelli of Hermitage, PA; Mark (Peggy) Novelli of Brookfield, OH, Thomas (Carol) Novelli of Sharpsville, PA, brother, Louis (Shirley) Fortuna of Sharpsville, grandchildren, Roger J. Novelli, Leah Novelli, Jason (Ami) Novelli, Jonathan Novelli, Matthew Novelli, Becky Novelli-Smith, and Lauren Bell, also surviving are great grandchildren Jeremy Novelli, Julianna Novelli, Ian Smith, Brooke Nolan, and Hope Nolan.
She was preceded in death by father, Louis Fortuna, mother, Nancy Fortuna, husband, Roger R. Novelli, brothers, Anthony Fortuna and Joseph Fortuna, also her son in law, Barry Garson.
Friends may call Sunday, January 22nd, 2017, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Stephen J. SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 23rd, 2017, 10:00 am at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church Sharpsville, PA, with Father Matthew Strickenberger, officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
