Marianne Welch Obituary
Marianne Welch, 88, of Hermitage (formerly of Sharon), passed away 8:55 am on Sunday September 20th, 2015 at Hospitality Care Center Hermitage, PA.
She was born on February 12th, 1927, daughter of Hermine Sussel in Austria. Marianne worked as a Nurse Aid for the Mercer County Home. She married the late Thomas James Welch, who passed away September 11th, 1979
Marianne loved breeding and raising her German Sheppard’s. She also enjoyed caring for and training horses for shows. She was a talented cook and baker, particularly known for her strawberry pies made from strawberries she grew. Marianne also liked traveling on casino trips and playing penny slots.
Marianne is survived by her loving daughter - Sandra Benko and her companion Steve Lehr, who was like a son to Marianne, both of Glenshaw, PA; 2 sister in laws - Marlene Martell of Sharon, PA, Gladys Welch of Ashville, NC; 6 nieces - Dian (George) Danos, Peggy Weidler, Janet Martell, Cathy (Marc) Stewart, Doris Welch, Susan Sharp, and nephew Sam Welch. She is also survived by her beloved dog Rambo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hermine Sussel, husband, Thomas James Welch, and sister, Hermine Kalteis.
Per Marianne’s wish there will be no services.
