Martha Zipay Obituary
Martha J. Zipay, 95, of Hermitage, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 6th, 2016 at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage, PA.
Martha was born on September 23rd, 1920 to John and Elizabeth (Kolesar) Palisin in Sharon, PA. Martha was a homemaker. On August 30th, 1941 she married the late Paul Zipay, who passed away December 8th, 2006.
She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage, PA. Martha was also a former longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cooking, epically for her family.
Martha is survived by her 2 sons, Wesley P. (Marlene) Zipay of Hubbard, OH, Gordon R. (Deborah) Zipay of Sharpsville, PA; 4 grandchildren, Stuart Zipay, Stacey Zipay, Ray (Becky) Zipay, Keith Zipay, also surviving are 2 great grandchildren, Joshua Zipay and Simon Zipay.
She was preceded in death by father, John Palisin, mother, Elizabeth Palisin, husband Paul Zipay, brother, John Palisin, 2 sisters, Dorothy Kocis and Ann Driscoll, also a granddaughter, Marie Zipay.
A private committal service, offered by Pastor Anthony Kladitis, will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Service will be held on October 8th, 2016 at 11:00 am in Faith Presbyterian Church 2370 N. Hermitage Rd. Hermitage, PA, with a luncheon to follow.
Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
