Mother of six
Mrs. Madden, formally of Service Ave in Sharon PA, Passed away peacefully at Saint John XXIII home of Hermitage, on Saturday January 2nd, 2016. She was 90 years old. Mary Catherine was born in Sharon, PA on December 23rd, 1925 to Emma M. and William J. Dunn. Mrs. Madden attended St. Joseph’s school of Sharon and was an alumnus of Sharon High School graduating in 1944. She was a life time resident of Sharon, Pennsylvania and active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mrs. Madden married Robert J. Madden Sr. on November 16th, 1946. Mrs. Madden worked for the former Westinghouse Corporation, also The Hermitage School District as pupil transportation coordinator. She also held a position as secretary of the Mercer County association of Educational secretaries. Upon retiring from the Hermitage school district in 1988, she worked part time for Hudson construction as secretary/receptionist. Mrs. Madden was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was a loving and kind Mother, friend, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and will be sadly missed by her entire family to include friends and former co-workers. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading and playing cards with friends and family. Mary Catherine loved her outgoing and loving dog Becky which her Daughter Joanne adopted and trained several years ago.
Surviving are Robert J. Madden Jr. and his wife Karen of Hermitage, Catherine L. Reiter and her husband Robert F. of Sharpsville, Scott madden and his wife Renee of Sharon, Donna Schmidt of Fort Hill, S.C.
Grandchildren are Brian P. Reiter and his wife Susan of Sharpsville, Kimberly Springer and her husband Jim of Hermitage, Melana L. Reed and her husband Nathan of Hermitage, and Carrie Schmidt of Fort Hill S.C., Danielle Madden of Masury, Ohio, Robert "Bobby" Madden of New York.
Great Grandchildren: Robert Reed, Caysen Schmidt, Colbin and Casey Madden.
Mrs. Madden was preceded in death by her son Daniel Madden in 2007 and her Daughter Joanne Madden in 2008. Husband Robert J. Madden Sr. in September of 1975, her parents William J. and Emma M. Dunn. Her loving brothers, James Dunn, Robert Dunn, Matthias Dunn, Arthur Dunn, Richard Dunn, Raymond Dunn, Edwin Dunn, Paul Dunn and infant Lawrence Dunn.

A funeral service will be held on Monday January 4th, 2015 at 6 pm in the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home with Father Tom Whitman of St. Joseph Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hermitage, PA
