Maryellen "Nish" Witzigman Obituary
Maryellen “Nish” Witzigman, 85, of Marienville, PA passed away peacefully at the home of her son on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2015. She was born on June 19th, 1930 in Sharon, PA to the late Martin and Gertrude (Klinges) Witzigman.
She worked in various nursing homes in Sharon and Gibsonia, PA and eventually became the nurse’s aide supervisor at Snyder Memorial Nursing Home in Marienville, PA.
She also previously managed the Wade D. Mertz Towers in Sharpsville, PA.
Nish lived in Marienville for the past thirty years and was happiest when she was at home in the “woods”, working outside.
She was a proud Roman Catholic and loved her little church, St. Dominic’s in Sigel, PA.
Nish loved to crochet, making dolls, rugs, and blankets for everyone. In recent years she spent her summers preparing for and managing the church flea market.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Adkins of Sharpsville, PA; 4 sons, George Faber of Butler, PA; Terry (JoAnn) Faber of Butler, PA; Greg (Kim) Gibbs of Cincinnati, OH; and Martin (Debbie) Gibbs of Cincinnati, OH; 3 stepsons, David, Tom, and Bob McCracken, 2 brothers Charles Witzigman of Missouri and James (Barb) Witzigman of Tennessee; also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers, one stepson, and her husbands, George Faber, Howard Gibbs, and Richard McCracken.
Per her request there will be no visitation.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday December 28th, 2015 at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Sharon, PA with Father Henry Andre, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Dominic Church 129 Graham Avenue, Brookville, PA 15825.
