Michael Joseph McNulty, 93, of Sharon, passed away on Friday January 15th, 2016 at Sharon Regional Health System in Sharon, PA.
Michael was born on November 24th, 1922 to Anthony J. and Katherine C. (Gallagher) McNulty in New Castle, PA. He attended St. Joseph school and graduated from Sharon High School class of 1941. He also attended courses at Penn State, Pitt, Chicago University, and YSU. Michael was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army as a Combat M.P. in China, Burma, and India during World War II. He was attached to General Stellwell Combat Headquarters and later to Merrial Maurades. He was awarded the Victory Medal WWII, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge Rifle Bar, Expert Marksman Medal, and Outstanding Leadership Medal.
Michael worked 44 years as a Supervisor for Westinghouse Inc. until his retirement. On September 7th, 1946 he married the late Mary Catherine Reibley by Monsignor James H. Murphy in Sacred Heart Church. She passed away October 27th, 2010.
He was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, PA where he served in numerous roles for 40 years.
Michael is survived by his daughter - Susan (Mario) Massaro of Ashtabula, OH; 2 sons - Denis (Jean) McNulty of Maui, HI, Edward A. McNulty of Sharon, PA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Anthony J. McNulty, mother, Katherine R. McNulty, wife of 64 years, Mary Catherine McNulty, brother, John E. McNulty, brother, Leo C. McNulty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 20th, 2016, 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, with Father Henry C. Andrae, officiating.
Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
