Mike Hrishenko 90, of Pulaski, PA passed away peacefully at home on March 12th, 2024.
Mike was born September 20, 1933 in Stowe Township, Allegheny County PA to Yustina and Usten Hrishenko. He graduated from Stowe Township High School. Mike served his country as a member of the US Army during the final days of the Korean War. He worked for Pittsburgh & Lake Erie railroad as a yardmaster for over 30 years. On August 24, 1957 he married his sweetheart Patricia Ann (Yanish) who preceded him in death on June 12th, 2003.
He enjoyed Polka music, building ship models and RCplanes, woodworking, working on cars and gardening. Most important to him were his grandchildren who he treasured.
Mike is survived by his children, Michael S. (Diane) Hrishenko of Pulaski, PA and Susan M. Hrishenko, brother, Andrew (Dorothy) Hrishenko, grandchildren, Michael Alexander (Mehrnoush) Hrishenko, Alyssa Lauren (Dr. Vasilii) Bushunow, Alexander Justin Hrishenko, great-grandchild, Tigran Hrishenko as well as a new great-grandchild due in June.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his oldest daughter, Carolyn Diane Griffith, and brothers, Paul, Metro, Alexander and Jack.
Per the family’s request, private services will be held.
Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery next to his wife.
