Norma Marie (Flowers) Miller, age 91, of Franklin, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Norma was born on January 4, 1933, to the late Dean R. and Helen E. (Cannon) Flowers. She married James R. Miller on July 16, 1958, who preceded her in death on April 23, 2016.
Norma was a 1951 graduate of Hickory High School where she was a member of the marching band playing the French horn. She worked as a bank teller at Merchants and Manufacturers Bank in Hermitage, Pennsylvania and, after taking time to raise her family, at Central Bank in Jefferson City, Missouri until her retirement at the age of 65. Norma was a long-time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri where she assisted with the finances and occasionally played the organ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Norma’s good nature was exemplified by her favorite phrase—there is no such thing as a bad flavor of ice cream. Her wit and humor were infectious and she could brighten the room with her smile.
Norma is survived by two sons, Ronald (Eileen) Miller and Neal (Martha) Miller, a brother, Dean Flowers, and two granddaughters, Rebecca (Jonathan) Stegmann and Jennifer Miller (fiance, Jack Suson) and ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Flowers and an infant sister Ruth Flowers.
