Phyliss Mae Parshall, 85, of Clark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Farrell UPMC, surrounded by her loving family. Her legacy of kindness, peace, and devotion to family will live on through those who knew and loved her.
Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, on September 21, 1940, Phyliss was the daughter of the late Crissie and Lewis Hough. She was a 1958 graduate of Sharon High School and began her career as Secretary at Sharon First Baptist Church. After taking time to raise her family, she continued her professional journey at WP Company and later served as Secretary of Clark Borough for many years.
On April 9, 1960, Phyliss married Dean Parshall in The First Baptist Church of Sharon. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to their family. She is survived by their three children: Dana (Butch) Scott, Tom (Amy) Parshall, and Jim Parshall; four grandchildren: Jason Scott, Michael Parshall, Alyson (Ryan) Maurice, and Tyler (Chelsey) Parshall; and three great-granddaughters: Julia Maurice, Willow Maurice, and Ellie Parshall.
Phyliss was a devoted volunteer at Clark Trinity United Methodist Church and was one of the founding members of the Clark Community League. Her dedication to her community was matched only by her love for her family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.
She enjoyed shopping for the best deals, traveling, and playing Scrabble and word games. Her warmth, humor, and generosity touched everyone she met.
Phyliss was one of seven siblings and is survived by her brother, Robert Hough; sister-in-law, Agnes Hough; and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents; brothers Lewis, Evan, and William; and sisters Lucille Brest and Doris Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phyliss’s name to Clark Trinity United Methodist Church and Clark Volunteer Fire Department.
