Robert Thomas Obituary
Robert H. “Bob” Thomas, 81, of Sharon, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday April 21st, 2018 in his home.
Bob was born on August 22nd, 1936 to William J. and Gertrude (Garhart) Thomas in Sharon, PA. He attended Sharon High School. After high school Bob served in the U.S. ArmyRobert worked for National Castings from 1963 to 1983, Jennings Manufacturing in Masury, OH, and in maintenance for St. Stanislaus Catholic Churc for 13 years. On August 8th, 1964 he married his wife Margaret A. “Peg” (Ference) Thomas, who survives at home.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Bob was a former 4th degree, member of the Knights of Columbus Lodge 648 in Sharon, PA, and the Sharon VFW Post 1338. He enjoyed golfing, word searches, bowling, trips to casinos, and instant scratch off tickets. In his earlier years, Bob was a PA certified EMT and proudly worked for the Sherman Ambulance Service in Sharon, PA.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, daughters, Marcia A. (Leo) D’Amore of Sharpsville, Kathy M. (Brent) Booher of Sandy Lake, son, Patrick A. (Jenn) Thomas of Bradenton, FL, 5 grandchildren, Nelle Cherry, Madyson Booher, Reagan Booher, Taylor Booher, and Tyler Thomas, sisters, Rose Marie Haines of Sharon, Gertrude (Larry) Wells of Masury, OH, Catherine Strimpel of Hermitage, brothers, William (Rose) Thomas of Sharon, Charles (Carol) Thomas of Sharon, Hank Thomas of Brookfield, OH, Dennis Thomas of Sharon, 2 brother in laws, James (Eileen) Ference of South Carolina, David Ference and his family in Sharon.
He was preceded in death by father, William J. Thomas, mother, Gertrude Thomas, sister, Margaret Torok, brothers, Fran Thomas, and James Thomas.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 25th, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Stanislaus Catholic Chruch with Father Matthew Ruyechan, officiating. Friends are welcome to meet directly at church.
Burial will take place in St. Marys Cemetery.
