Russell Davidson Obituary
Russell Charles Davidson, 88 of Hermitage, passed away on April 1st, 2018 in Sharon Regional Health System.
Russ was born on October 13th, 1929 in Grove City, PA to the late Russell Joseph and Ethel Gertrude (Bestwick) Davidson, who passed away a few days after giving birth. His second mother, at age 6, was Marion Ellen (McFadden) Davidson, who was a loving, wonderful mother.
He was employed at Westinghouse Inc. for 34 years as a mechanical electrical draftsman. After Westinghouse closed, he worked for ABB at Foster Plaza for 5 years, until his retirement.
He married his beloved wife, Eleanor Frances (Grande) Davidson on April 15th, 1955. She preceded him in death on October 15th, 2003.
Russ served our country in the Korean War with the 7th Infantry from 1952 to 1953. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the American Legion Post 299, and VFW Post 6166. Russ was a 32 degree Free and Accepted Master Mason and member of New Castle Consistory. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing poker with his friends.
He is survived by his 2 children, Douglas C. Davidson and wife Beth of Euless, TX, Denise E. Harkless and husband Robert of Newton Falls, OH, 3 grandchildren, James Willingham, Kate Harkless, and Gary Davidson, also surviving are, 5 great grandchildren, Maddie, Cole, Trenton, Aiden, and Addison.
Russ will be laid to rest next to his wife in Morefield Cemetery.
Per his request, private burial services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250, in memory of Russ.
