Stephanie Mihelcic Obituary
Stephanie J. Mihelcic, 100, of Edinboro, formerly of Christy Rd. Hermitage, passed away on August 9th, 2018.
Stephanie was born on April 4th, 1918 to Frank and Sophie (Jarosz) Jara in New Castle, PA. She graduated from Sharon High School, class of 1936. Stephanie worked as an administrative assistant for Westinghouse Electric Corp., 34 years until her retirement in 1978. On June 15th, 1940 she married the late Matthew J. Mihelcic, who passed away on November 19th, 1996.
She was a founding member of Notre Dame Church in Hermitage, PA. Stephanie was also a member of the Westinghouse Veterans Association, life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary post 6166, the Hermitage Women’s Club for over 55 years, Catholic Daughters of America Sharon court # 507, and former member of Oak Tree Country Club where she aced hole # 14 in 1984.
Stephanie is survived by her sister, Laura R. Slater of Yucaipa, CA, sister in law, Anne Jara of Greensburg, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister Wanda Jara, and brother, Bernard Jara.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Notre Dame Church 2325 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA, in memory of Stephanie.
Friends may call Thursday, August 16th, 2018, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Notre Dame Church, Hermitage, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 16th, 2018, 11:00 am at Notre Dame Church with Very Rev. Richard Allen E.V., officiating.
Entombment will take place in Americas Cemetery.
