Thomas Fredrick “Tucker” Findley, 85, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully with his wife and family at his side, on Sunday January 29th, 2017 at John XXIII Nursing Home in Hermitage, PA.
Tucker was born on March 6th, 1931 to Thomas and Vennetta M. (Tate) Findley in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School. Following high school, Tucker served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. Tucker worked as a Conductor for Conrail until his retirement in 1987. On August 13th, 1951, he married the former Norma Jean Jennings, who survives in Hermitage.
He was of Protestant faith. Tucker was a member of the 1946 undefeated Sharpsville High School football team. He enjoyed hunting with his father and children, especially with beagles he and his father bred. Tucker was also an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues. Most important to him was spending time with his family and family gatherings.
Tucker is survived by his loving wife Norma Jean Findley, two sons, Craig (Shelly) Findley of Sharpsville, PA, Brian (Pam) Findley of Hubbard, OH, grandchildren Thomas H. Findley, Heather M. (Dan) Kilgore, Timothy E. (Teresa) Findley, Jason Findley, Natalie Dundon, Brittany (Dustin) Kulka, Nathaniel Findley, Elysia (Shaun) McCullough, Adam Findley and fiancé Terri Kay, daughter in law Valerie M. Findley, also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, Thomas Findley, mother, Vennetta M. Findley, son, Thomas E. Findley
Friends may call Tuesday, January 31st, 2017, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1st, 2017, 11:00 am at First Assembly of God in Hermitage with Pastor Michael Sabella, officiating. Friends are welcome to meet directly at church.
Full military honors will be offered at church.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the charity of donors’ choice, in memory of Tucker.
