Thomas "Tom" Barnes Obituary
Thomas “Tom” M. Barnes, 76, of North Charleston, husband of Mary L. Barnes, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his residence.
Tom was born in Sharon, PA on August 9, 1941, son of the late F. Marshall Barnes and Minnie Barnes. He was a graduate of Sharon High school in Sharon, PA and received his Bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University. He was a commercial agent at Carolina One in Summerville, SC where he served the community helping small business owners for the past 15 years. He retired after over 20 years with Ford Motor Company. Tom was a member of the Rotary Club and also belonged to the Masonic Lodge. He was an advisor for SCORE which helped people start small businesses. He was an avid golfer and a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife Mary are: his daughter: Katharine Boehm (Donald) of Falls Church, VA; his son: Thomas “Tom” Barnes Jr. (Ginevra) of Melbourne, Australia; four grandchildren: Rosina, Liliana, Samuel and Thomas III; two sisters: Sally Barnes of Hermitage, PA and Judy Rice (Mark) of Hermitage, PA.
Friends may call Sunday November 5th, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 5th, 2017 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Lew Voisey, officiating. A Masonic Service will also be held.
Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, PA.
