Tonya Ozinga Obituary
Tonya Louise Ozinga, 50, of Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 16th, 2016 in Sharon Regional Health System.
Tonya was born on January 26th, 1966 to Lloyd and E. Ruth (Drissel) Hawley in Sharon, PA. She graduated from the Sharon Christian Academy. Tonya worked 12 years, as Utility Clerk & Secretary for the Borough of Sharpsville. Previously she worked for Reed & Reed Associates. On February 16th, 2013 she married John D. Ozinga, who survives at home.
She was a member of the South Pymatuning Community Church where she was active serving the Lord and singing with her sisters in the Sisters Twice Quartet. Tonya played basketball and later coached for the Sharon Christian Academy. She was known for riding a motorcycle in her younger years. Most important to Tonya was her family, particularly her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Tonya is survived by her loving husband John, daughter, Erica (Michael) Gorby of Summerville, SC; son, Travis Gaines of Sharpsville, PA; two step daughters, Meghan Ozinga of Columbus, OH, Kyla Ozinga of Columbus, OH; three sisters, Cindy (Larry) Garman of Hermitage, PA, Pam (Martin) Mellott of Hermitage, PA, Linda (Jim) Auld of West Middlesex, PA; two Grandchildren, Liam Gorby and Stella Gorby; many nieces and nephews who loved Tonya, also surviving is her former husband, Mark Gaines of Struthers, OH.
She was preceded in death by father, Lloyd Glenn Hawley and her mother, E. Ruth Hawley.
Friends may call Thursday, October 20th, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21st, 2016, 11:00 am at the South Pymatuning Community Church with Pastor David Searle, of South Pymatuning Community Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in Haywood Cemetery West Middlesex, PA.
