Urla Sterling Obituary
Urla J. Sterling, 78, of Charlotte Ave. Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Saturday October 1st, 2016 at Clepper Manor in Sharon, PA.
Urla was born on March 12th, 1938 to Glen E. and Christine R. (Herdman) Gearhart in Sharon, PA. She graduated from Hickory High School class of 1956. Urla was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Sharon, PA. Urla enjoyed fishing, bowling, and she enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.
Urla is survived by her two daughters, Paula R. (Scott) Sterling-Gladysz of St. Augustine, FL, Marilyn V. (William) Bayer of Zelienople, PA; three sons, Donald G. (Susan) Sterling of Hadley, PA, Brett A. (Lisa) Sterling of Sharon, PA, Bradley A. (Andrea) Sterling of Sharon, PA; two sisters, Jean Thomas of Hermitage, PA, Glenda (Jerrie) O'Brien of Warren, OH; former husband, F. Gene Sterling of Niles, OH, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Glen E. Gearhart, mother, Christine R. Gearhart, son, Brian G. Sterling, daughter in law, Shirley Sterling, sister, Arlene Gearhart, sister, Janet Pompey, and brother, Glen R. Gearhart.
Friends may call Tuesday, October 4th, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday October 5th, 2016 from 10 am to time of service at Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2016, 11:00 am in the Stephen J. Sherman Funeral Home, Hermitage, PA, with Pastor John Trojak, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
