Vera Keeley Obituary
Vera M. Keeley, 86, of Transfer, went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 23rd, 2018 in her home, surrounded by family.
Vera was born on July 3rd, 1931 to Edwin and Lavina (Moser) Breauchy in Transfer, PA. She graduated from Fredonia Deleware High School class of 1949. During high school, Vera was Basketball Queen Attendant her junior year and Basketball Queen her senior year. Vera worked as a school bus driver for Reynolds School District, 28 years until her retirement. On March 3rd, 1950 she married her husband, the late Norman J. Keeley, who passed away March 21st, 2012.
She was a member of Sharpsville Church of the Nazarene where she was very active as missionary president, church secretary, financial secretary, junior church leader, Sunday school teacher, bible school leader, and taught bible school. Vera loved to work in her garden, tending to her flowers, taking care of her yard, canning, and sharing her things with others. She enjoyed spending time with her husband at their second home in Smethport, PA where they attended Smethport Alliance Church. After retirement, they loved to travel to Florida in the winter months, Anderson tours to Alaska and Hawaii, they visited all US states except 5. She also had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland where her grandfather was a watch maker before he came to Berne, IN.
Vera is survived by 2 daughters - Bonnie L. (Richard) McKalip of Hadley, PA, Barbara S. (David) Reynolds of Bethel Park, PA; son - Ralph D. Keeley of Transfer, PA; 4 grandchildren - Carrie (Jerry) Boozer, Kelly (Brad) Varner, Benjamin (Courtney) Irwin, Jeremy Irwin; 7 great-grandchildren Hailey Boozer, Taylor Varner, Anna Irwin, Peyton Varner, Evan Boozer, Easton Irwin, and Everett Irwin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Harry and Robert Breauchy.
Friends may call Thursday April 26th, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2201 Highland Rd. Hermitage, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 27th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Hermitage, PA, with family member, Pastor Lucille Schilling and Pastor Len Powell, officiating.
Burial will take place in Americas Cemetery.
