Vernetta Rice Obituary
Vernetta Mae Rice, 82, of Sharpsville passed away April 13th, 2021 in her home with family at her side.
Vernetta was born June 28th, 1938 to Emma (Eiler) and Ferdinand Shaffer in New Brighton, PA. She worked in the production department of Howes Industries. Vernetta enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and completing crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and watching the Kentucky Derby. Vernetta loved her family and always cherished spending time with them locally.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond J. Shaffer of Sharpsville, granddaughters, Theresa (Aaron) Lundstrom of Sharpsville, Kimberly (T.J.) Zucco of Hubbard, OH, great grandchildren, Ivan Basinger, Joey Zucco, and Iris Zucco.
Vernetta was preceded in death by her parents, children, George Rice, William Rice, Gertrude Rice, Donald Rice, Irene Coryea, brothers, Ferdinand Shaffer, William Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, Richard Shaffer, sisters, Georgia Parsons, Catherine Bochert, Leatrice Rice, and Gertrude Megyesi.
Per her wishes, services will be held privately.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
