Viola Kranich Obituary
Viola M. Kranich, 86, of Sharpsville, passed away following a brief illness on Monday January 11th, 2016 at her home in Sharpsville, PA.
Viola was born on August 4th, 1929 to Sebastian and Anna (Holschuh) Higel in Youngstown, OH. She was a graduate of East High School. Viola worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and Sharon Regional Health System, where she retired. On July 3rd, 1954 she married her husband Paul A. Kranich, who survives at home.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Sharon, PA. Viola was a member and past president of the Shenango Valley Women’s Club where she was chairwoman of the Pink Stalking Ball and worked on the Buhl Park Skating Rink Project. She was also a card club member with her closest friends. Viola enjoyed shopping, reading, was talented with cross-stitch and needlepoint, but most important to her was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Viola is survived by her loving husband Paul, daughter - Leslie (Matthew) Liburdi of Hermitage, PA; 2 sons - Paul (Frances) Kranich of Sharpsville, PA, Jeff Kranich of Wilmington, NC; sister - Arlene Farris of Youngstown, OH; grandson - Mason Liburdi and granddaughter - Ava Liburdi.
She was preceded in death by father, Sebastian Higel, mother, Anna Higel, sister, Helen LaManta, sister, Anna Higel, and brother, Frank Higel.
The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Sharon Regional Hospice for their care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 14th, 2016, 12:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church Sharon, PA with Father Tom Whitman, officiating.
Entombment will take place in the St. Rose Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joseph Church in Sharon, PA in memory of Viola.
