William ‘Bill’ Thomas Porter was taken away at the young age of 34 by a brain tumor on August 31st, 2024. Bill spent his final days surrounded by family and friends.
Born January 23rd, 1990, Bill was the son of Sheila A. Porter, and the late Ronald G. Porter of Oil City. He is survived by his wife Sara A. Lowe Porter and daughter Scarlett P. Porter. Bill also leaves behind his adopted family of in-laws who loved him dearly along with a sister, nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bill was 2008 Graduate of Oil City High School and a 2010 Graduate of Bradford College leading him to his career as a database engineer.
Bill will be remembered for being everyone’s go to guy and best friend of many. Anything anyone needed, Bill was there for you as much as he could be. Wrong number, Bill would still have a conversation. Need a ride, he’d grab you. Bill was a kind and generous person with a variety of interests.
Although jokingly afraid as a child, Bill grew to love weather and became a certified storm chaser. He was also known for his eclectic taste in music and media always having the most obscure movies, perfect music on any road trip and acting as frontman in a metal band for a time.
Bill was a known and beloved member of the Pittsburgh airsoft community who not only played the sport but also specialized in airsoft builds and would advise in any way he could on the field or with personal matters. He also enjoyed cooking for friends and family specializing in smoking meats and making butter and sauces.
Bills main and perhaps favorite interest was his wife Sara, and daughter Scarlett. Most weekends you could find them out on a family outing at animal parks, zoos, or other child centered activities. He was always up for anything and everything to make his girls happy.
Bills good nature, sense of humor and warmth will be missed by so many.
Per his wish no services will be held at this time.
Arrangements entrusted to the SHERMAN Funeral Home & Crematory.
