William J. Vasconi Sr.

William J. Vasconi, Sr., 86, of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully on Monday July 12th, 2021 at Nugents Nursing Home in Hermitage, PA.

William was born April 26th, 1935 to Josephine (Cain) and Wellington Charles Vasconi in Sharon, PA. He graduated from Sharpsville High School class of 1954 and married his wife Barbara J. Deal on July 31st, 1954. He worked 28 years as a brick layer for Sharon Steel Corp.

He attended First Presbyterian Church of Sharpsville and was a member of the Sharpsville Boosters and Hall of Fame as well as the Mercer County Hall of Fame.

William enjoyed golfing, vegetable gardening, and was a fan of Penn State Athletics.  He especially enjoyed attending his grand children’s sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Vasconi, daughter Debbie (Gary) Cornelius of Sharpsville, sons Robert (Lori) Vasconi of Sharon, Richard (Rita) Vasconi of Sharpsville, Daniel (Jessica) Vasconi of CA, sister Sue Scott of Sharpsville, 14 grandchildren, and several great grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Vasconi, Jr.

Friends may call Thursday, July 15th, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Sherman Funeral Home & Crematory 2201 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.

Burial will take place at Americas Cemetery
