Nicholas  Ristvey, 82, of 745 Greenville Rd. Mercer, passed away in Avalon Springs Nursing Home 5:30 pm on  March 2, 2012 following an extended illness.
He was born on December 22, 1929 to John and Susan (Sheftick) Ristvey in Sharon, PA. He attended school at Sharon for 11 years. He graduated from Barber / Hairdressing Cosmetology School in Youngstown, OH. Nicholas worked at the Sharon Steel Corporation-Roemer Works as a roller. He also worked as a barber / hairdresser. Nicholas was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Army.

Nicholas played basketball in high school, was an avid golfer and member of American Carpatho-Russian Youth Organization, served as vice president of the PA Publinx Golf Association from 1954 to 1969, and helped set up church golf tournaments. He was inducted into the Mercer County Hall of Fame February 6th, 1993.
He was a member of St. Johns Carpatho-Russian Church.
Nicholas is survived by brother - George (Margaret) Ristvey of Edinboro, PA; sister in law Stephanie B. Ristvey of Park Ridge, IL, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, John Ristvey, mother, Susan Ristvey; 4 brothers Michael, Stephen, Joseph, and John Ristvey; 3 sisters Mary Ristvey, Ann Ristvey, and Susan Hnat.
Private funeral services will be held Saturday March 10th  2012, in St. Johns Orthodox Cemetery Chapel Hermitage, PA with Father David Mastroberte officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Johns Cemetery Hermitage, PA.
